Allah Almighty says in the Quran
Surah Jinn verse number 1:
Say: It was revealed to me that a group of jinn listened, and they said: Indeed, we have heard a wonderful Quran: When the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was returning from Taif to Makkah, there is a place between Taif and Makkah. In Bukhari Sharif, its name is Batn Nakhla. When he reached Batin Nakhla, it was time for the Fajr prayer, although the five obligatory prayers had not yet been made obligatory, but the Fajr and Asr prayers were performed in congregation as usual. He (the Holy Prophet) started the Fajr prayer and recited it aloud. When this group of jinn reached there, they heard the Holy Quran. They used to recite from sixty to one hundred verses in the Fajr prayer with tartil, that is, in a slow and steady manner. When the jinn heard the Holy Quran, they understood that the restriction imposed on us was due to the revelation that no one could doubt the gift of revelation. In another place, Allah Almighty says, “Or increase upon it and recite the Quran in a slow and steady manner.” The meaning of reciting the Quran in a slow and steady manner is: Secondly, when you read it calmly, it will be easy for the listeners to understand because they are Arabic speaking people and will understand it automatically (Dhakharat al-Jinan Jain)

History of the preservation of the Quran
Since the Holy Quran was not revealed in its entirety at one time, it was not possible to preserve it in book form from the very beginning. Therefore, in the beginning, for the preservation of the Quran, the greatest emphasis was placed on memorization, but since there is a possibility of forgetting in the case of memorization, writing was also arranged along with memorization. The work of compilation and arrangement was also being done under your guidance and supervision. Therefore, after your death, the chain of revelation stopped, but at that time, due to the continuation of the chain of revelation in your presence, there was room for intermediate additions, so it was in book form. Jamaleen, Sharh Jalaaleen, p. 29
Date of revelation of the Quran The Holy Quran is the divine word that has been present in the preserved tablet since eternity. The Holy Quran was revealed from the preserved tablet twice. Once, it was revealed in its entirety to the world’s Baitul-Izzat. This revelation took place on Laylatul-Qadr. The second time, it was revealed to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) little by little as needed. Until it was completed in 23 years. There is almost agreement that the second gradual revelation of the Holy Quran began when the Holy Prophet was 40 years old. According to the correct view, this revelation also began on Laylatul-Qadr. Jamalayn, Sharh Jalalyn, p. 33
The first revealed verse
The first verse revealed The correct view is that the first verses of the Holy Quran revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) were the opening verses of Surah Al-Alaq, which were revealed in the Cave of Hira. Hazrat Aisha says that the revelation to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) began with true dreams. After that, he developed a desire to worship in solitude. During this time, he spent many nights in the Cave of Hira and was engaged in worship. Until one day, an angel from Allah came to him in the same cave and said, “Read.” The Prophet (PBUH) said, “I am not educated.” After that, the angel pressed him so hard that the difficulty reached its peak. In fact, the angel did the same thing to him three times. After the third time, the opening verses of Surah Al-Alaq were revealed. He was very frightened by this incident and his heart beat fast due to fear. When he reached home, he said to Hazrat Khadija, “Cover me with a blanket.” These were the first verses revealed to him. After that, the revelation was interrupted for 3 years. This period is called the period of Fitrah. The angel who came to the cave of Hira appeared to him between the heavens and the earth and recited the verses of Surah Mudassar to him. Jamalin, p. 34. The original message of the Quran: “O mankind, worship your Lord.” The original and basic message of the Quran begins with the belief in monotheism, which is the first and most basic belief of Islam. It is not just a belief and ideology, but the only way to make a human being human, which is the solution to all human problems, his refuge in every situation, and the cure for every worry and sorrow, because The result of the belief in monotheism is that all the chaos in the universe and all the structures of its elements are subject to the will of a single being and are manifestations of His wisdom. When this belief is firmly established in the heart and mind and permeates all thoughts and ideas, the very foundation of every chaos will be destroyed. Jamaleen, page 69.

The names of the prophets and messengers mentioned in the Quran
The names of the prophets and messengers and their events are mentioned in the Holy Quran.
Their number is 24 or 25

According to most commentators, Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (peace be upon him) is the total number of all the prophets and messengers whose names and events are not mentioned in the Holy Quran. Only Allah knows best. In a very famous hadith, 124,000 is mentioned, and in another hadith, 8,000 is mentioned. However, this narration is weak. The Quran and hadith only show that prophets have come in different periods and circumstances, and finally this line ended with the last prophet, Muhammad (peace be upon him). All the claimants to prophethood who have passed away or will come after him are ignorant and liars, and those who confirm their false prophethood are outside the circle of Islam. Jamaleen, p. 502
1. What is the fastest way to memorise the Quran?
The fastest way is to follow a fixed routine, recite early in the morning, repeat new lessons 20–30 times, and revise old portions daily. Consistency matters more than speed.
2. How many pages should I memorise daily?
Beginners should start with ½ page, then increase to 1 page or more once your flow becomes strong. The goal is steady progress, not rushing.
3. What time is best for Hifz?
Tahajjud to Fajr time is the most effective because the mind is fresh and distraction-free. Evening revision also helps strengthen memorization.
4. How do I stop forgetting what I memorised?
Daily revision is the key. Follow a 3-step cycle:
- New lesson (Sabaq)
- Recent revision (Sabqi)
- Old revision (Manzil)
Even 10 minutes daily revision makes a big difference.
5. Can adults memorise the Quran fast?
Yes, adults can memorise efficiently if they stay consistent, reduce distractions, and revise more frequently. Age is not a barrier — discipline is the key.
6. How long does it take to memorise the Quran?
Most people finish in 1.5 to 3 years, depending on daily time, routine, and revision. Some complete it faster with strong focus and consistency.
7. What should I avoid during Hifz?
Avoid memorizing while tired, using different mushafs, skipping revision, and memorizing large portions at once. These slow progress and cause mistakes.
